A tatter from one of the tatting email lists requested a pattern for a Tinker Bell. I have always wanted to come up with a Tinker Bell tatting pattern. Below is a link to a diagram that I just made of a possible tatted Tinker Bell pattern. I give suggested techniques and show where you could start and finish each part. It is made up of several rounds, so there is lots of cut and tie. Tink is a complicated little pixie!!!! It features SCMR(self closing mock ring), SR, and ring and chain. Nothing too fancy. Most of it is ring and chain, easy tatting. I can muster up the diagram but don’t have the time to actually tat it out to test if my technical and drafting elements work. That is where you wonderful tatters come into play!!! :-D It is up to you to figure out the stitch counts and placement of picots. What a challenge, eh??

I may someday tat this up to test it for my own satisfaction. I hope it works out OK for you. Would LOVE to see the end result if you do
make it.

SPECIAL NOTICE: Tinker Bell is a copyrighted icon(and that goes with any character or icon), that I can only copyright my diagram as presented. And if you tat it up it would be for only personal use and the tatted article or pattern cannot be sold in any way. Just for clarification. So this is just between tatting friends and having a bit of fun.

No I did not get a speeding ticket or put in jail!!!! ;)

I got to go to the doctors for my birthday present yesterday. WHOOPIE! Nothing serious and I am ok. Guess I haven’t been getting enough sleep or the right kind. Plus I am stressed out about a lot of things. What I am about to tell you is only a miracle that God was there.

This past weekend Kim and I were visiting her mom and dad because her dad was going to have surgery. We were en route to the hospital to admit him. I am the type to hold in my emotions and then break loose the stress all at once. Not a good thing. I have had dizzy and fainting spells before and know the signs to control them. This time was a bit different and a different situation. I was behind the wheel!!! I didn’t see it coming fast enough. I guess I was stressing out too much about his surgery plus a whole bunch of other issues that was weighing on me. I felt funny in the back of my head and I didn’t experience the fuzziness of a fainting spell I am accustomed to. It happened all too quickly. And since I was behind the wheel and Kim was in the passenger seat(no one else in our car, the others were in another car) that spelled a disaster situation. Because it came on quickly I couldn’t react fast enough and I blacked out. Next thing I remember is I came to with the car stopped and people trying to revive me. To spare you with my family’s accounts as to what happened which could be a lengthy saga, I will say THANK GOD for being there with his angels!!!!! Kim said we just about lost it and it could have been a disasterous accident. But Kim handled the situation well enough as she could. I don’t how she managed, but miracles happen in times of crisis. Kim’s brother got our car stopped and helped me out help me out. An ambulance was called from another driver behind our caravan. They took down my info and I was released. I didn’t go to the hospital by ambulance, but we did take me to the emergency room of the same hospital that my father-in-law was to be admitted.
So I spent the day in emergency room getting all these tests while Kim’s family went from 3rd floor to 1st floor emergency area visiting both me and my FIL. They got a good workout!!! I guess I was dehydrated. I drank up two saline bags from IV! Add that to the stress and my heart rate was very low(42) and blood pressure was 100/55 with a breathing rate of 11(I guess it is supposed to be 15-20). The doctor and nurses asked if I was a runner because they could tell from my low heart rate and physical condition. That is a good thing :-D I asked the nurses and technicians all kinds of questions while they did their work because I was curious about how things worked. I got a good education while there.
Finally after getting my heart rate up and vitals OK and emptying the IV, I got to go home. I was ready to go, getting antsy. Last emergency visit was to get stitches in my chin about 20 years ago. I haven’t stayed in a hospital or been admitted for surgery. So this was quite the experience for me. My FIL’s appointment on the 3rd floor with the surgeon had to be rescheduled because the doctor was still in surgery from another patient since 8 that morning. It is good that it got rescheduled! Better to have a fresh and alert doctor operating on my FIL than a tired and worn out doctor!!!!

So for the rest of the weekend I had to take it easy.

On my birthday in the morning I went to our doctor and he wants me to be put on a sleep study. There isn’t anything neurologically wrong with me. Yes, my brain is still functioning on MOST circuits!!!! Stress plays a big role in our everyday activities. I was drained physically and mentally and not getting enough sleep and not the right kind. So I have an appointment with a sleep specialist July 27. SO FAR AWAY!! But the earliest time I could get in.

So for now I am on car probation!!!!

That’s right. The doctor doesn’t want me to drive anywhere far, especially highways, and I have to have someone in the car with me if I do drive. This is to safe guard in case another episode happens. So if I drive I have to take back roads(less traffic). And because my FIL’s surgery is rescheduled for June 26th and I will still be on driving probation, we are not sure how we are going to get up there. Kim doesn’t drive on highways and unfamiliar roads and she DEFINITELY is not a city driver. So we may have to have another family member drive us up there.

I didn’t get to tat much on the wedding lace on my birthday. After work we visited this new store that opened up in town. A cross between a Lowe’s and Rural King. That visit took 2 hours of looking around and price comparing. Then we went out to eat at a local mexican restaurant(authentic). MMMMMM…….

For now I just bike to work(my preferred method) and I will probably still run in the mornings as I feel like it. Can’t go completely cold turkey on my fitness schedule because of one blackout/fainting episode. I have had them before! Will just take it day by day.
