I thought I would try something different in the way
of my two passions, tatting and bobbin lace. This heart
is for an exchange. I used 1 ply silk thread from a 12 ply
skein from The Thread Gatherer out of Boise, ID. This made
the thread very fine. So far the finest thread I have used
for bobbin lace. I tatted the 3 connected motifs first. Then
pinned it to the pillow and made a simple whole stitch pricking
surrounding it. As I was working on it I found some areas
that could use improvement. I should have stabilized
the whole stitch ground by putting a twist after each
passive and the workers at the ends.
I will learn next time, hehe.

This is my second attempt at this pattern. Here I took 6
pairs of bobbins and used size 80 tatting cotton. It made
for a much sturdier edging.
